This prestigouse competition is held every year by invitation only. It has a limit of 22 clubs from the EAF region, it is on a first come first served basis. At this time I was slide secretary for Harlow PS, we managed the deadline and were accepted into the competition. The criteria was three prints, three slides. Having sent the competition form along with three slides of our prints the day soon arrived.Held in Stowmarket, judging started at 6.00pm. Bob Elliott, FRPS,EFIAP,APAGB,was the judge for the event.First were the prints, Harlow was represented by Tony Perryman, Tony Hepworth and Jo Cleall. Then a refreshment break and a chance to see the prints. The slides followed, representing Harlow were, Nick Bertzen, Paul Major and myself, I received a top mark for my slide, boosting the clubs overall score. At the final tally Norwich won the shield, with best print also going to one of their members, Jon Martin, with "Auschitz", an evocative mono print of this infamous site. When the best slide was announced it turned out to be mine,"Atlantic Grey Seals at play" for which I received a shield. It all finished at 9.45pm and I had a pleasent drive home.
