The lake district is known for it's mesmerising landscapes, but it does have other sides. Such as it's coastline,we had climbed some of the peaks and fancied a rest so we went to the coast.Initially we struggled but the more you looked the more the opportunitys arose. The seafront at Maryport was just that.We arrived at the start of high tide, the wind got up and rainclouds scurried across the sky.The waves were increasingly larger by the minute, eventually we were witnessing a westerly storm. A photo opportunity with the occasional glimpse of sunlight illuminating the breaking waves.Somebody once quoted to me they had never seen Maryport so photgenic, the power of nature to add the last ingredient.
