Canadian name for this large deer, other wise known as Elk. Here on the Elk refuge in Jackson they arrive in their hundreds to graze this valley when the weather is bad and snow deep in the interior. The Bulls kept in batchelor groups and the Hinds stayed separate too. They of course mix dyring the breeding season/rut.
